Chapter One

Tonight I picked up the tee’s for the charity Ive started called ‘Home is Where the Heartaches’. Id like to really thank Adam and  Marty at Dead Souls for doing the printing and helping me with designs and just generally being good mates.

Basically, if you havent read on my facebook or through previous posts on this blog, Ive started a not-for profit organisation to raise awareness for depression. As depression is Australia’s biggest killer and I feel like everyone can relate to it in one way or another. I don’t see Beyond Blue or any other organisation doing too much in the way of getting the younger generation to be aware of how depression can affect you and what signs to look out for.

Ideally, Home is Where the Heartaches is aimed at 13-24 year olds as Id like to get them talking more about depression/teen suicide and not letting it go unnoticed as most cases do.

So, Ive got a few tee’s printed up. It’s only a small batch to start with, just to see how it goes. I dont have any prices on the tee’s and am going with the notion to ‘pay what you can afford’.Ill be selling them at the Melbourne ‘Ruiner Shows’ at the Arthouse on April 17th and also Mt Eliza on April 18th.

I have a few things planned for the future such as a website which will be getting done as soon as I can save up enough to afford it, more tee’s, some crew neck sweaters which will be done this week.

I’ve been thinking about putting on a skatejam at Frankston Skatepark in a few months and also throwing parties somewhere maybe once a month. Id also like to do talks at highschools but that’s just an idea.
