Panda is wearing the Home is Where the Heartaches crewneck. I think these came out really well!
Just wanted to say thanks to anyone who’s emailed me or messaged me through facebook over the past weekend. Im literally blown away by the support Im getting and the ideas people are coming up with. If I havent gotten back to your emails and messages about orders or whatever, Im sorry and Ill reply to you tonight. At the moment, Im not able to send out any orders because I havent registered the charity as a business yet so its fraud if I start selling the tee’s. Itll all be up and running this week I hope, so Ill keep you posted. The site is getting done this week or two as well so keep your ear to the street for that.
Once again, thanks!
Tonight I picked up the tee’s for the charity Ive started called ‘Home is Where the Heartaches’. Id like to really thank Adam and Marty at Dead Souls for doing the printing and helping me with designs and just generally being good mates.
Basically, if you havent read on my facebook or through previous posts on this blog, Ive started a not-for profit organisation to raise awareness for depression. As depression is Australia’s biggest killer and I feel like everyone can relate to it in one way or another. I don’t see Beyond Blue or any other organisation doing too much in the way of getting the younger generation to be aware of how depression can affect you and what signs to look out for.
Ideally, Home is Where the Heartaches is aimed at 13-24 year olds as Id like to get them talking more about depression/teen suicide and not letting it go unnoticed as most cases do.
So, Ive got a few tee’s printed up. It’s only a small batch to start with, just to see how it goes. I dont have any prices on the tee’s and am going with the notion to ‘pay what you can afford’.Ill be selling them at the Melbourne ‘Ruiner Shows’ at the Arthouse on April 17th and also Mt Eliza on April 18th.
I have a few things planned for the future such as a website which will be getting done as soon as I can save up enough to afford it, more tee’s, some crew neck sweaters which will be done this week.
I’ve been thinking about putting on a skatejam at Frankston Skatepark in a few months and also throwing parties somewhere maybe once a month. Id also like to do talks at highschools but that’s just an idea.
If anyone has any other idea’s on how we can get people aware and get the name of Home is Where the Heartaches out there, I’d love to hear them. Please don’t hesitate to either message me through facebook or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
crewneck sweaters ready this week!
Thanks alot for your support 🙂
The xx are a band Ive been listening to a bit lately. They’re good to chill out to and I like listening to them when Im trying to sleep. Its the first ‘electro’ album Ive ever bought and it’s pretty good.
The other album Ive been into recently is ‘DangerDoom’. Made up of DJ Dangermouse and MF Doom, they’ve collaborated and made an awesome album. This album puts me in a good mood and I love how they use Aqua Teen Hunger Force characters throughout the whole thing. Check it out if you’re into rap/rhyme/A.T.H.F or fun.
